Swimming at the State Park aint what it used to be

I used to drag the kids to the swimming beach and hope I wouldn’t lose one.

It was so much work.

They couldn’t go out past the rope and wore life jackets.

They excavated.

They scooped.

They boated.

They snorkeled.

They are beach bums.

Oh, and they brought Army men…and set up elaborate war scenes.

But today, when we went back for the first time this year, they added a new activity.

Lighting things on fire with a magnifying glass.  Cool activity, until we decided burning human flesh would be fun.  Mom confiscated the magnifying glass.  Gone are the simple days of hoping the sunscreen would protect them from burning.

Just keeping life interesting.
