Today was Scraptastic

Once in a while, I have to get my crafting on.  I am all about making stuff.  Some days.  Today was one of those days.  I hooked up with my buddy, Janelle, who is also my Christmas baking buddy.   We sew some great stuff when we get all inspired, and today was just scraptastic!!    Can you tell I am pumped about our stuff?

Ok, this is how it really went:

I found a link to a cool little bag on my newest blog addiction, HowAboutOrange.  I sent it to Janelle, who decided that Golly Gee, sure we could make these cute things.  She went home and printed out all the excellent tutorial and set up to make the first one.  Cuz she is all organized like that.

All I asked is that I wanted owl fabric.  She picked it out cuz she knows me so well.  Where is it?  Wait for it…Wait for it!  I think it looks like a clam here.

Then I went over to her house today, when all our kids were elsewhere, and we went nuts.  I cut and iron, she sews and tells me what to do.  It is a system we have perfected in our many endeavors.

Ok, here is where you go “WHOA!!!!  AWESOME!!”  and Whamo!  You have my owls, who once were tucked away safely in my little polka-dot wallet, but now are ready to haul my loot all over timbucktoo.

Yeah, go ahead, drool.

Here is hers ~

I know we have stumbled across a good project when even Bill is impressed.

Follow that linky…great directions if you know how to sew. Although I needed my interpreter myself as I am not a sewing girl. 🙂

Awesome work ladies!!!! I think I may need to finally get a sewing machine so I can do stuff like that and sew the patches & merit badges on the Scout uniforms at our house. 🙂

I have Target bags that I always carry in my purse that unfold sort of like that, but these are so much cooler and personalized. Thanks for the post! I know what I am making for all those people at Christmas who you never know what to give them! This is the 2011 gift! :0)

Awesome, Julia. We thought you could sew these and stuff them full of stuff for bigger gifts too – with themes, these could really be fun!
