What’s cookin’ this week? 1/16

Food of the previous week:

20110110_184705_7562 Turkey and Black Bean Taco – Shocking hit with the whole Pieper clan.  Will do this again.

20110112_184320_7677Meatball and Roasted Veggie Sub  The kids didn’t like it, Bill said it tasted healthy…I liked the guts of it, but think it would be better with chicken.

20110113_183149_7679 Tortilla Soup  Bill liked it.  Kids were not thrilled, I agreed with the kids.  I used plenty of sour cream and Fritos to make mine enjoyable.  Oops.  On the positive side, the house smelled wonderful when we came home!  Yippy for crock pots!

20110114_174357_7682 Salted Caramel Cupcakes  Ummmm, yeah, who wouldn’t like these?!?!

We were invited to dinner at our friends on Friday, so the roast beef will have to wait until another day.

Food for this week will be…drum roll please…

Pork Loin is on sale this week, so I plan to make pork chops one evening and a pork roast another.  A friend posted this recipe earlier today:

Barbeque Worth Braggin’ About

I will try it Monday.

Tuesday will be

Clean Eating Chicken and Dumplings

Wednesday looks like a good day for Lime Glazed Pork Chops.

Thursday is our Boy Scout Blue and Gold Banquet.  Yippy for pot-lucks!  Our age group is supposed to bring desserts, so I am planning on making some different cookies.  YEAH!

Play Dough Cookies look awesome and fun!  Wonder how many will get swiped before everyone gets through the line?  Smile  I might make traditional Chocolate Chip cookies as well, recipe from the back of the bag of chips…you cant go wrong with them.

Friday is Pieper Family night.  Maybe it is time for a Red Plate Dinner.  Once in a while, our family gets out the red fancy dishes and has a high style dinner at the table, all of us at one table with nothing pulling us in different directions.  Generally for these dinners, I make a meat, mashed potatoes, veggies, a salad, and we let the kids drink pop from the stemware.  It is a big hit with the kids.  Hmmmmmmmmmm, will have to think about what exactly we will do that night.
