Pumpkin Bars good enough for my dog to steal

Pumpkin Bars  (Recipe from Grandma Pieper)

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

2 tsp cinnamon

2 cups sugar

1 cup oil (YIKES!)

4 eggs

1 15 oz. can pumpkin

Mix all ingredients.  Bake at 350 in a jelly roll pan for 25 minutes.

Frosting:

Mix and spread on somewhat cooled bars:

1 8 oz. cream cheese block

3/4 stick of butter

1 Tbsp. milk

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups powdered sugar

I made a pan of these beautiful bars this past weekend and yesterday, I found my dog up on the counter eating them.  Good thing we had devoured most of them ourselves.  Naughty dog!!

This is not the first nor the last time she has been or will be a naughty dog…it’s kinda why we love her.

One day she dug up all my newly planted flowers to make herself a cool spot, so I put her in her kennel for a while while I cleaned it up.  This is what I saw when I came in to get her.

Goodbye, fluffy pillow in the kennel.

Ahhhhh, it’s a dog’s life out there.
